Aims and scope of the journal

Medical Biotechnology Research is a multidisciplinary journal that publishes papers of the highest quality and significance in all areas of medical biotechnology. The journal is particularly interested in contributions from biotechnologists who are applying the principles, language and tools of biotechnology to the understanding of medical problems, from practitioners who are interested in understanding biotechnological processes at the molecular level or experts in other fields who can share their experience in their own field to promote biotechnological projects. Research areas covered in the journal include, but are not limited to:

  • Biodiagnostics
  • Bioeconomics
  • Bioethics
  • Bioinformatics
  • Biotherapeutics
  • Clinical trial reports
  • Company news/reviews
  • Contract research facilities
  • Drug reviews
  • Gene therapy
  • Medical biotechnology research
  • Transgenic therapeutics

In addition to publishing original research, Medical Biotechnology Research serves as a central source for top-quality information for the medical biotechnology community through the publication of Company News/Reviews, Product Spotlite, Scientific Interviews, Upcoming Events, and Project Analysis. We would also like to present the activities and facilities of biotech companies in order to provide contract research opportunities.

How to submit articles
We strongly prefer to receive manuscripts online. This way, authors can send manuscript files (text, figures and supplementary information) directly to our office and check on the status of their manuscripts during the review process. Technical information on file formats and tips for using the system effectively are as follows: Articles should be written in a single word processing file. The manuscript text file should include, in the following order: a title page with author affiliations and contact information, the sections required for each content type, Acknowledgements (optional), Competing Interests Statement, References, Figure and Scheme Legends, Tables. The manuscript file should be formatted as double-spaced, single column text without justification. Medical biotechnology is a diverse field. Thus, a high priority of Medical Biotechnology Research is that all papers be accessible to non-specialists involved in the field. Manuscripts are subject to substantial editing, in consultation with authors, to achieve this goal. After acceptance, a copy editor may make further changes so that the text and figures are readable and clear to those outside the field, and so that papers conform to our style. Contributors are sent proofs and are welcome to discuss proposed changes with the editors, but Medical Biotechnology Research reserves the right to make the final decision about matters of style and the size of figures.
